De Niro, the filmmaker and actor, was born on August 17, 1943. He started his acting career in 1963, when he acted in small role opposite Jill Clayburgh for the movie ‘The Wedding Party.’ However, the film was released to the theaters in 1969. He started getting attention after the two films he released in 1973, which are ‘Bang the Drum’ and ‘Mean Streets.’
Fun fact: As a child he was nicknamed ‘Bobby Milk,’ due to his thin and lean frame.
