Port Fouad: Where Africa meets Asia

CAIRO – 11 August 2017: Port Fouad is one of Egypt’s meeting points between Africa and Asia located in the North-West corner of Sinai on the Mediterranean. It was named after King Fouad I, and because it is a port it became Port Fouad.

It was originally, in 1920, designed to provide accommodations to workers on the Suez Canal; according to portsaid.gov it was built in French style, with wide squares and astonishing villas. Its special geographical location makes it a perfect travel destination most of the year whither in summer or winter, which means you can enjoy the Mediterranean beaches and historical sites in a calm, gorgeous atmosphere.
