This classic goes down well with everyoneIngredients
5 1/2 tbsp flour
4 tbsp soft brown sugar (light or dark)
1/8 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Healthy pinch nutmeg
A pinch of salt
1 egg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup date jam (preferably with large fruit pieces)
Mix all dry ingredients and set aside. Mix all wet ingredients and add to dry ingredients. Divide date jam between three individual ramekins. Pour batter over date jam and bake in the microwave for 2 minutes. Once the cakes are done, turn upside down onto your serving plate and serve warm.
