As the weather begins to shift outside, we can feel a bit of change within ourselves too. Summer is now behind us, with its carefree spirit, fun, parties, sunshine-filled days, and long vibrant nights. And here we are now welcoming fall, getting back to our daily routines, responsibilities, and packed work schedules, where the relaxed mood at work and home is becoming more of a sweet memory.

It is common for many people to feel blue between the change of season, especially in the transition between fall and summer, because they feel the fun is over and now is time to get back on track and get the ball rolling again. But with a change of perspective, maybe we can find a different kind of joy in the months of fall.

Disconnect to Reconnect
You’ve probably spent more time than usual on social media during summer, documenting memories and moments, which is fine. But now that life has a slower pace, maybe you can take a bit of a break from social media to get in touch and reconnect once again with nature, ourselves, our bodies, and our emotions, to know what we need. Fall may not have as many interesting things to do, but maybe it is for a reason.

Slow Down to Catch Up
As we all know, summer is really fast-paced. Moving from one place to another, meeting people here and there. We’re rushed. All the time. Fall calls for a slower pace, urging us to tone down the fast tempo a bit so we can catch up on what we have missed in the middle of all the rush. In slowing down, we get to catch up with things we missed, be it more family time, a project we’ve put on hold for the holiday, or anything else that we didn’t have much time for in summer.

Reflect to Look Ahead
Take this time as an opportunity to look back at everything that has been happening since the beginning of the year; to reflect and decide what needs more work from you, what needs to be changed, and what simply needs to be accepted. This retrospect will direct and guide you on what to do next, to look ahead, and to move in the right direction.

As a big portion of the year has passed, we still have the time to make the best of those few months we have left before the year ends. Make them memorable, joyful, inspiring, and impactful.
