We may engage with people who have psychological illnesses and never be aware of their condition. Have you ever noticed that all the characters in the popular cartoon, “Winnie the Pooh” suffer from mental illnesses? Yes, each of the main characters of this nostalgic cartoon reflects a certain mental illness. 
 
Winnie the Pooh has taught millions of children valuable life lessons, worth mentioning that these lessons are valuable for us grown-ups as well. As most of us remember the characters of this iconic Disney show, we can easily relate their traits to the ones we interact with in our daily lives. Winnie
Winnie is the one with the most psychological struggles. It is portrayed through his Attention Deficit Hyper-Activity Disorder (ADHD) that he has scattered thoughts, a disorganized lifestyle, and constantly forgets everything. In addition to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), this appears clearly in his obsession with honey and repetitive behaviors like counting. Winnie also suffers from an eating disorder; he is always eating fast, eating even if not hungry, and doesn’t know when to stop.
 
Piglet
Piglet
The helpless little pig who is always anxious and worried. This reflects his Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD); usually caused by past traumas, especially self-esteem trauma. That’s why our favorite pinky piglet has a huge amount of stress, anxiety, and fear, and is always nervous about minor things that happen or might happen.
 
Rabbit
Rabbit
The one who never relaxes. He is obsessed with organizing and cleaning all day and night. He always panics when things aren’t in order, which appears clearly when gardening. In many scenes, he keeps counting and recounting the same thing, arranging and rearranging non-stop. Moreover, Rabbit does the same thing with everyone in his life, they feel annoyed and can’t understand why he keeps doing this. Rabbit has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
 
Eyeore

The saddest character in the history of Disney. Eeyore represents Major Depressive Disorder; he never feels any positive emotions like happiness or pleasure and has a pessimistic outlook on life. Anyone with Depressive Disorder either sleeps too much or too little, has feelings of inferiority and excessive guilt, difficulty concentrating, thinking, or making decisions. They also may have recurrent thoughts of committing suicide.
 
Tigger

Bounce, bounce, bounce! This is Tigger’s job for twenty-four hours. He is hyperactive and can’t stand still for a moment, Tigger is very impulsive and usually makes risky decisions without considering the consequences. People who suffer from ADHD have difficulty controlling their activity like sitting still in classrooms for example. They may also have aggressive behaviors, difficulty in realizing social cues, and can’t be in a long-term relationship.
 
Kanga
Kanga
The overprotective mother, Kanga is obsessed with controlling her young son and never lets him make his own decisions, or go out alone. She is a bad mother model and is unaware of the negative effects that may occur to her son because of her overprotectiveness. Kanga typically signifies Social Anxiety Disorder.
 
Roo
Roo
The young kangaroo and Kanga’s son, Roo has a dual personality; sometimes he puts himself in dangerous situations, and other times he sits quietly in his mom's pouch. He lacks awareness of danger and also has attachment issues with his mother, this indicates that he suffers from Autism.
 
Owl
Owl
We all know that Owl is very intelligent and educated though, he can’t read and write properly. He always misspells the words and writes them with their letters reversed or inverted. Obviously, Owl suffers from Dyslexia and has Short-Term Memory Loss; he tends to forget everything he says. Besides, he has a Narcissistic Personality Disorder; he has feelings of superiority, and arrogance, and is self-centered.
 
Christopher Robin
Christopher Robin
All of his friends are stuffed toys! Surprisingly, Christopher has schizophrenia and lacks parental supervision.  He spends most of his time talking to stuffed animals and living in an imaginary world. Schizophrenia can affect the way you think, feel, or behave, it involves illogical ideas and a lack of emotional expressiveness.
