Our friends are a chosen family. They provide companionship, support, and joy throughout each step of our lives. However, building life-long friendships requires hard work and consideration from both sides.
 
While there are no certain rules for a perfect friendship, some well-known principles and behaviors often encourage wholesome, enduring relationships. By keeping these friendship "dos and don'ts" in mind, we can assure you that no matter how many ups and downs you may face with your friends, your friendship will be here to stay. 
 
Do support them
Support your friends in all their achievements even in the smallest way, it will mean so much to them, showing your support and care through thick and thin is the sweetest part of any friendship and will make it last longer than you think.
 
Do compromise 
Always try to find a middle ground with your friends whenever your opinions differ or you have disagreements, friendships require give and take from both sides so learning to find solutions that work for everyone strengthens the bond.
 
Do communicate
Make sure to you schedule regular check-ins with your friends, share what's going on in your lives, and actively listen to them as well. Communication is the base of all healthy relations so don't underestimate the power of just speaking your mind to your friend.
 
Don’t hold grudges 
It is normal to have conflicts with friends but holding onto grudges will only make things worse, it will make you two drift off and lose each other. Learn to forgive and let go of the past, even if it is hard but forgiveness is key.
 
Don't gossip about them
This rule is essential because no one will stay with a friend who talks about them behind their back. Sharing personal information or secrets that your friend told you in confidence breaches the trust you two built. Always respect your friend's privacy and appreciate that they confided in you. 
 
Don't be judgmental
Judging your friends for their opinions and actions is never the right thing to do, accept your friends for who they truly are, because constantly criticizing or judging them can create distance and they will feel insecure and unappreciated.
