Other crafts from Sinai and Siwa would be registered later, she noted.
The announcement was made at the conclusion of “intellectual property and entrepreneurship for women in Egypt - the Tulle bi telli craft sector in Sohag" project, which was co-launched by NCW and WIPO, and targets women working in the “tulle bi telli” craft in Shandawil island, Sohag, Upper Egypt.
The project aimed to focus on benefiting from intellectual property to enhance the value of the product, its competitiveness, and its access to markets, and to enable female entrepreneurs in Sohag to benefit from intellectual property and facilitate their participation in national and international markets, Morsi said.
Such a project puts into force the National Intellectual Property Strategy launched by Egypt in 2022 under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, she added.
