Launched on November 19th at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Zamalek, ‘Phases’ is an art exhibition themed around the 4 seasons of the year, the change and transition that happens between them, and the emotional state that accompanies each of the seasons. Leveraging different techniques and materials, the artists showcased their skills and talents in a roundup of pieces.
The first part or ‘phase’ is about winter; the artwork is done with dishes using 3 different techniques: fusing, polyester pieces, and painting transfer. The second phase bears the mood and colors of autumn, an expression of a mosaic on an old Damour canvas from the Sixties bearing the seals of the state, the surface of which has been prepared to become a mural material that can withstand all factors. The hero of this collection is a piece called "Back to Cairo“, where it expresses the current state of Egypt and its return to the local product. As for the third phase, it carries spring colors, raw plastics, and polo carbonite, which are mixed with different materials and colors. The exhibition's last phase is about summer, bringing a mix of both cold and fiery colors and using the fusing technique to mix together coral reefs with glass.
The launch of the exhibition was attended by the Faculty of Fine Arts Dean, Dr. Amr Sami, Dr. Safia Al-Qabbani, Dr. Mustafa al-Faqi, Dr. Hassan Abdel Fattah, Dr. Amr Ahmed Nabil, Dr. Amr Ali Al-Din, Dr. Sharif Hindawi and Dr. Murad Darwish
The exhibition is open for visitors at a hall in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Zamalek until November 23rd, 2023.
