Aswan set to operate hot-air balloon flights for the first time

CAIRO - 1- October 2023: Aswan Governorate is preparing to launch flying balloon trips for the first time in the far south of Egypt in Durrat Al-Mashati, the Nile River city of Aswan.

 

Egypt Today reviews the most important information about this new project:

 

· Aswan Governorate announced operating “Hot-air balloon” flights in the sky of Aswan for the first time, similar to the city of Luxor.

 

· Aswan enjoys the exceptional beauty, nature, and stunning views that God endowed it with.

 

· The Governor of Aswan confirmed that the hot-air balloon project was supposed to have already existed years ago.

 

· The new project is part of the governorate’s efforts seek to maximize the added value of tourism components, and work to increase the rates of tourist traffic through the development of new tourism patterns, given the exceptional beauty of Aswan's landscape. 

 

· Coordination was made with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to prepare the necessary studies to begin operating hot-air balloon flights.

 

· Flights are scheduled to be launched during the upcoming tourist season.

 

· Flight routes and their airport location are being determined.

 

· The importance of giving first priority to the availability of all necessary requirements to ensure the maximum possible safety of these trips was emphasized in order to preserve the lives and safety of tourists and workers in this field.
