CAIRO - 13 September 2023: Located within the geographical scope of the city of Marsa Alam, the village of Abu Ghosoun is the oldest village in the city, located among the villages.

The village is located within the geographical scope of the attractive Wadi El Gemal Reserve, as the village of Abu Ghosoun is the second largest village within the Wadi El Gemal Reserve.

For his part, environmental researcher Ayman Qarbawi said that the village of Abu Ghosun has a special nature for its natural resources, as it is one of the most beautiful natural areas south of the Red Sea, due to the terrain of its mountains and various mountain trees, and wild animals appear in it as well as various plants that are used for medicinal purposes.

He added that the village of Abu Ghosoun is one of the mining landmarks in the Red Sea as well as in all of Egypt, as the famous ilmenite mineral was extracted from it, which was exported in the past to Switzerland for use in the manufacture of car bodies.

The environmental researcher revealed that the village of Abu Ghosoun is visited by some tourist trips and safari trips, as the spread of wild plants in its various valleys makes it one of the best areas for mountain safari.

There are famous diving spots near the beaches of Abu Ghosoun, as well as a number of international beaches, such as the famous Hankorab Beach, as well as the two castles in the south.

The women of that village are skilled in making handicrafts, as they make and sell them in the Wadi El Gemal Reserve to help them raise the standard of living for their families.
