CAIRO - 19 July 2017: The Rommel Cave Museum will open its doors to visitors soon after having been closed for seven years, the head of the museums’ sector at the Antiquities Ministry said on Wednesday.

Renovation works at the museum are underway via cooperation between the Antiquities Ministry and Matrouh governorate, which made financial provisions to carry out this project, Elham Salah added.

In the same regard, the official lauded the development works and hailed as "fruitful" the ongoing cooperation between the ministry and the governorate.

The Rommel Cave Museum was used by German leader Erwin Rommel as headquarters for his military operations during World War II.
