On Thursday, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, witnessed the signing ceremony of the first Lifestyle Art Hotel in Egypt Hyatt Centric Cairo West located in the Pyramids Heights Business Park, between ALDAU Development, member of Sami Saad Holding and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
The contract was signed by Eng. Bassel Sami Saad, Chairman of ALDAU Development, and Mr. Peter Norman, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development at Hyatt Hotels Corporation with the presence of H.E Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Governor of Giza, journalists, writers and media representatives.
Mr. Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, began his speech by expressing his sincere happiness for this generous invitation, which he witnessed today, recognizing what has been achieved on the ground, with Hyatt Regency Cairo West, which contributes to increasing hotel capacity in Egypt.
H.E. also stressed about the ministry's keenness to encourage hospitality investment opportunities and to increase the capacity of hotel rooms to meet the ministry's goals and objectives on developing the inbound tourism movement and increasing demand to reach the ambitious targets set by the country for tourists arriving from various global markets. He pointed out that the signing of this contract will be the beginning of success of this new type of hotel facilities and a strong addition to the hotel capacity and availability in West of Cairo.
During his speech, the Minister spoke about the national strategy for tourism development in Egypt, which aims to achieve rapid growth ranging from 25% to 30% annually in the tourism industry in Egypt. He pointed out that one of its most prominent axes is to improve the tourism investment climate in Egypt through uniting the state with investors, because of their important role in the private sector whether Egyptian or foreign, to develop and improve the tourism experience in Egypt by developing the quality of services provided to tourists and increasing the number of hotel rooms during the coming period. The axes also include providing access to the Egyptian tourist destination and doubling the number of upcoming airline seats Egypt, in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, as well as working to develop and improve the tourism experience in Egypt by developing the quality of services provided to tourists.
He explained that Egypt as a tourist destination deserves to have a greater share of the global tourism movement, pointing out that the tourism sector in Egypt is a promising sector and that the strategies of the private sector and the ministry act as a sergeant, regulator and licensee for the tourism industry in Egypt. He confirmed that we are on the right track to achieve the Egyptian state's goals for the tourism industry in Egypt and it is expected to reach 30 million tourists by 2028.
Moreover, Eng. Bassel Sami Saad said that the Hyatt Centric Cairo West Hotel, which will be opened in early 2024, is the first lifestyle art hotel facility in Egypt with a capacity of 283 hotel rooms that provide all hotel services, on an area of up to 27,000 square meters with investments of one billion pounds.
He added that the signing of this contract is a continuation of cooperation with Hyatt Hotels after the opening of the Hyatt Regency Cairo West Hotel in February 2022 to be the second hotel in Cairo under the Group’s management.
During his speech, Eng. Bassel Sami Saad, on behalf of his colleagues at ALDAU Development, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the political leadership, the Prime Minister and the government for their support for investment, especially tourism investment. He also thanked Mr. Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities for their continuous efforts and work in coordinating with all ministries in order to complete the various tourism projects. Hyatt Centric Cairo West is located in Pyramids Heights Business Park. It is strategically located in western Cairo, minutes from the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza, and Sphinx International Airport.
