Let’s start off by mentioning that there’s a book titled ‘Make Your Bed’ by William Harry McRaven and it’s based on the Navy SEAL’s inspiring graduation where he said ‘If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed’. You have also probably read several articles on how making your bed can help you
start off your day on a positive note. But it’s understandable if you wonder how a very simple, insignificant habit can make a huge difference.
1. Making your bed in the morning gives you a sense of accomplishment. When you wake up and make your day, you’ve already completed your first task of the day. It will give you a push forward on wanting to get more things accomplished. It’s a small win yes, but with a profound impact.
2. It brings a sense of order and calmness to your bedroom. We sometimes leave in quite a rush, but an unmade bed can create a feeling of clutter. Taking just a few minutes in the morning to just straighten out the sheets and fluff the pillows will create a peaceful environment for you.
3. It provides a sense of calmness and relaxation. Besides starting off the day on a positive note, you will also end the day on a relaxing note when you have your bed made. It will make you feel great walking back to your room after a long day to find it looking all neat and clean.
