The Earth witnessed a partial solar eclipse of the sun today. A partial solar eclipse was seen today in Egypt at 12:00 PM and is expected to end at 2:16 PM. The eclipse reached its peak at 13:09 when the moon covered 86% of the sun. The eclipse was also visible from most of Europe, the Middle East, West Asia, West Serbia, South Asia, Northeast Africa, and North America.
The phenomenon of solar eclipse happens when the sun, moon, and earth, are all aligned in a straight line where the moon passes between the sun and the earth. In such, the sun gets either partially or totally blocked by the moon.
During eclipses, it is dangerous to look directly at the sun during the time of the eclipse, even for a short period of time, as it is harmful to the eyes. The only safe way to watch the solar eclipse is by wearing eclipse glasses or solar filters. Regular sunglasses do not provide the necessary protection.
According to solar-eclipse.info, the next partial solar eclipse in Egypt will take place on Monday, 08/02/2027
