CAIRO – 23 June 2022: North Sinai’s coast hosts one of the most important spots of salt ore production, which is Sabika area.

 

The Nasr Salines Company, which operates Sabika area, announced that a new batch of salt ore was exported to Greece through the sea port of El-Arish.

 

The company's statement stated that 5,500 tons of washed salt were exported to Greece, and this was preceded by the export of 2,700 tons of raw salt to Greece.

The company had previously announced the start of work on Sabeka area after a period of hiatus, and that the crusher unit was entered and the rotary chassis was installed.

 

The largest production capacity of the area amounted to about 800,000 tons, and the largest export capacity amounted to 90,000 tons through Al-Arish port in 2011. The company seeks to increase it to one million tons in the future through the development and development of navigation.

Sabika is one of the most important sites for the production of pure salt ore in Egypt. It is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the North Sinai Governorate, west of the city of El-Arish, on an area of ​​27 km. It is classified as one of the largest, purest and most important salines in Egypt.

 

The area is leased and operated by El Nasr Salines Company, one of the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector from North Sinai Governorate.
