There is something about long, thick lashes that truly bring out the eyes and accentuate the entire face. Needless to say that with long and voluminous lashes you need less eye makeup. While fake lashes and lash extensions are always the easiest resort, they can somehow damage your lashes. So, to grow longer, fuller lashes naturally, follow these easy remedies.
Castor Oil
This is an all-time favorite treatment for the lashes that have proved to be really effective. Castor oil. The fatty acids in castor oil, especially ricinoleic acid, contribute to stimulating hair growth. Add one drop of castor oil on a Q-tip and gently apply over your lashes. Leave it overnight and rinse in the morning. For noticeable results within two weeks, apply every night.
Coconut, olive, and almond oil
The three oils combined are rich in proteins and minerals that are beneficial for the lashes. The protein in olive oil promotes hair growth while the nourishing properties in coconut and almond oil will keep your lashes smooth, silky, and prevent breakage. Mix a couple of drops of each oil together and dip a clean mascara wand into the mixture and apply to the lashes. Keep the mixture on your lashes for 3-4 hours then rinse. Repeat daily whether morning or night for noticeable results.
Green Tea
Though it might sound uncommon, the flavonoids and polyphenol called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) found in green tea promote hair growth and adds volume. Brew a cup of green tea and when it totally cools down dip a Q-tip in the liquid and apply it to your lashes. Repeat daily and also drink green tea for effective results.
Vitamin E
One of the most proven effective methods for hair growth is vitamin E. Vitamin E revives the lashes, keeps them moisturized, promotes their growth, and prevents shedding. Extract the oil from a vitamin E capsule in a small bowl and brush it on your lashes with a clean mascara wand. Leave it for a few hours for the lashes to absorb them then rinse off. You can also ingest the capsule as a general supplement for your body but consult with your doctor first.
