CAIRO – 11 May 2022: A distinct tourism boom is being witnessed at temples of East and West Luxor, with large influx of tourist groups from around the world coming to enjoy the sunny city, and see the antiquities.

 

In this regard, Al-Tayeb Gharib, director of the Karnak temples, says that over the past 24 hours, the Karnak and Luxor temples have been visited by more than 3,000 tourists from around the world.

 

The nationalities of these groups include tourists from Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Spain and Germany, along with a number of Arab nationalities and from the Gulf states.

 

Al-Tayeb Gharib adds that the Karnak temples are considered the greatest pharaonic and religious houses of worship in the entire world, whose name was in ancient Egyptian “Amun Ra Segem Nath”, meaning “the god Amun responds to supplications and accepts prayers.”

 

He explained that Karnak temples were built over hundreds of years, and that they are a group of temples and chapels, and a number of halls, obelisks and statues, which were dedicated to the Holy Trinity of Thebes, headed by Amun-Ra, the Lord of the Egyptian Empire at the time.

 

The dedication, building and construction of these monuments continued for 2,000 years, and the total area of ​​Karnak temples is 247 acres for the archaeological group, which is called Karnak.

 

During the past few days, the famous artist, Nisreen Tafesh, visited Luxor Governorate on a summer trip in the capital of the ancient Pharaonic civilization, after the end of Eid Al-Fitr (Feast of Breaking the Fast) vacation and the Ramadan drama season.

 

During her visit to enjoy the magic of archaeological and heritage monuments in Luxor Governorate, the famous Syrian artist, Nisreen Tafesh, visited the flying balloon airport on the western mainland, and enjoyed taking souvenir photos at the land of the balloon airport before boarding one of the balloon flights in the sky west of the governorate.
