CAIRO - 28 April 2022: Botanical Garden in Aswan governorate, south of Egypt, is prepared to receive visitors during Eid al-Fitr holiday, as it hosts 720 rare plant species worldwide. 
 
The garden, according to its director Dr. Amr Mahmoud, is one of the preferred destinations during such occasions, as it receives thousands of visitors on holidays.

Dr. Amr Mahmoud also explained that the Botanical Garden in Aswan contains 720 rare plant species, and was formed by silt deposition before the construction of the High Dam on the rocks in the Nile River.

The area on which the garden is currently built is estimated at 17 acres, and it was a place for the people of Aswan to grow and use in livestock feed, until the English Lord "Kitchener" came and turned it into a garden by collecting different seedlings from different countries of the world by his soldiers.

He pointed out that foreign tourists and Egyptians are keen to visit the garden, especially on occasions and during feasts. 
 
The garden opens its doors from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. every day.
