Bitter nails are a common problem that many women face, and of course, every woman dreams of healthy and strong nails to flaunt them with the trendiest nail art. There are several factors that contribute to brittle nails that break easily such as calcium and vitamins deficiency, and excess use of alcohol-based sanitizers. We’ve brought you some home remedies that can help strengthen your nails, but of course if the problem persists, run checkups with your doctor.

Olive Oil & Lemon Juice
The nourishing properties of olive oil will help moisturize all layers of the nails while the vitamin C in lemon will help the nails grow faster, and also helps brighten the nails and remove any stains. Add a few drops of lemon juice to a tablespoon of olive oil and massage your nails with the mixture. Leave overnight and repeat twice a week for good results.

Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E is the top remedy for keeping the nails hydrated and moisturized, and accordingly become less prone to breakage. All you need to do is to empty a vitamin E capsule to extract the oil and massage it on your nails. For best results, repeat this remedy daily before bedtime and leave overnight. You can also take the capsules orally.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is known for its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that help fight nail infections. Mix equal portions of unfiltered apple cider vinegar with water in a small bowl. Soak your hands and feet in the mixture for a few minutes then pat dry. Repeat daily for best results.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil helps treat discolored nails and fight infections. Dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with half a tablespoon of vitamin E oil. Massage the blend on your nails, leave for half an hour, then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat twice a week for best results.
