Egyptian-Australian Dr. Daniel Nour, founder of Street Side Medics, named Young Australian of The Year for 2022. Street Side Medics is non-profit, GP-led mobile medical service for people experiencing homelessness. The honorable recognition was announced by Australia's Prime Minister.

On this occasion, H.E. Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration & Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, expressed her pride in Dr. Daniel's humanitarian services and support provided to homeless and vulnerable people amidst the pandemic, which has earned him several more recognitions earlier.

Despite working full-time at Royal North Shore Hospital, Dr. Daniel managed to lead a team of 145 volunteers spread across the city of New South Wales and helped more than 300 homeless people. Dr. Daniel along with his team dedicated all their efforts so that all the patients receive the proper care and to ensure that no medical conditions go unnoticed. Street Side Medics have treated diseases like thyroid disorders, hepatitis C, HIV, cancer, and heart disease. Dr. Daniel hopes to make Street Side Medics a national service in the next 12 months.

“I couldn’t live with myself knowing there are Australians suffering from medical conditions that could be treated. The team of Street Side Medics has given and continues to give breath to the breathless, hope to those who have lost hope, and love to those who are unloved. Our services have changed the lives of many, but we are nowhere where we need to be. Our ambitions are large. One state is simply not good enough, and our vision is nation-wide.” said Dr. Daniel
