Hassan Beik Palace: A masterpiece of 150-year-old architecture in Egypt’s Sharqiah

CAIRO – 8 November 2021: One of the Egyptian architectural masterpieces in its design is a 150-year old building, which lies in Nile Delta’s governorate of Sharqiah and is called “Hassan Beik” Palace.

Blended Italian architecture with oriental heritage, the palace’s design is considered a masterpiece, standing in Bani Hassan Village, defying time and weather conditions.

Grand children of the owner of the palace are popular figures, including Zamalek football Player Abdel Maksoud Salah, and film producer well-known in sixties Elhamy Hassan.

The designing of the palace was supervised by an Italian engineer, who imported glass and marble from Italy to be used in the construction of the palace.

The palace’s garden hosted matches between Zamalek and a number of football clubs in the sixties, in appreciation of Captain Abdel-Maqsoud.

It consists of three suites on each of the two floors, and all its components are from Italy. The palace has been closed a long time ago, and the grandchildren who are the legal heirs are not residing in the village.
