Marriott International Hotels in Egypt have come together once again to support the community as part of their annual CSR plan of the junior business council, which is headed by all Marriott Hotels GM to inaugurate their annual campaign “Back To School 2021”
With the new school season around the corner, and the great success of last year
campaign, Marriott hotels in Egypt celebrated the upcoming academic year by launching the “Back to School 2021” campaign for the 2nd year in a row by distributing 500+ stationery kits to underprivileged children in schools in the surrounding local community.
The goal of this campaign is to aid unfortunate children in the schools around our hotels & Resorts across Egypt, by providing them with tools that can help them pursue their education in a better way. We at Marriott Egypt Hotels are committed to support our local community by providing and aiding children in the local community and relieving some of their burdens and help create a better academic year for them.
This year Marriott campaign headed by Eben Nel, The General Manager of the Westin Cairo and Chairman of the Junior Business council Egypt combined three great values: innovation, contribution and recycling to create environmental friendly school bags that looks good, that is durable and that is definitely effective. The unique recycled process that takes place at each hotel has a specialized team of tailors and designers who invented a special machine to recycle old banners and posters to create impressive and high quality school bags with unique designs and colors. Each school bag that is being manufactured, at one of our hotels, costs almost 120 LE, and is filled with school supplies and is delivered to students in less fortunate schools around our properties before school begins.
Marriott Hotels in Egypt including Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Westin, St. Regis & Ritz Hotel’s hotels across Egypt collected their old banners, backdrops and posters that was once used during previous conferences or events and recycled them to make those unique school bags as an enhancement of last year back to school project.
In August last year, Marriott hotels in Egypt prepared and provided more than 500 educational recycled school bags to students in local schools around the different areas, to help them begin their academic year properly.
Next year looks even better with the minister of education as a partner in this annual CSR project by Marriott Egypt Hotels & Resorts.
