CAIRO – 14 March 2021: The Egyptian Opera House is holding an artistic concert for Baghdadi Big Band led by Maestro Magdy Baghdadi on March 14 at 8 p.m. at Damanhur Opera House’s Theater.
The concert’s program includes a selection of the world's most famous songs performed by Ali Hariri, in addition to an anthology of new renditions of well-known Arab melodies.
It is noteworthy that Magdy Baghdadi graduated from the Cairo Conservatory in 1982 and obtained a diploma in playing the trumpet with distinction and a doctorate degree from the Higher School of Music and Art Production in Germany.
Since 1990, he has worked as a professor of the trumpet at the Cairo Conservatory. He held the position of the first trumpet player in the Cairo Symphony Orchestra from 1983 to 1997 and was the leader of the Woodwind and Percussion Orchestra at the Conservatory between 1997 and 2003.
In 1996, he founded his band, Baghdadi Band, which is the first Egyptian band to specialize in Western music. The band includes a group of the most talented Egyptian musicians.
Additionally, Baghdadi held several positions at the Higher Institute of Conservatoire at the Academy of Arts and held the position of President of the Artistic House of Music, Opera and Ballet
