The Guardian chooses Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Barquq among the 10 virtual tours of spectacular buildings around the world

 

CAIRO - 5 March 2021:The Guardian chose Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Barquq among the 10 virtual tours of spectacular buildings around the world.

 

This virtual tour was among many in the #ExperienceEgyptFromHome campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities last May.

 

 

 The Guardian said “The intricate architecture in the iwans displays verses from the Quran along with geometric designs and patterns.

 

The Mamluk-built mosque contains marble mosaics and its doors and minarets are carved to perfection.

 

The tours also include the tomb of Queen Meresnkh lll, encouraging digital travel with the hashtag #ExperienceEgyptFromHome.
