CAIRO – 4 March 2021: The Board of Directors of the Grand Egyptian Museum approved on Tuesday the decision of the expert committee, formed upon Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s directives, to choose Hassan Allam coalition to be responsible for providing and operating the services at the museum.

Hassan Allam coalition includes Egyptian, English, French and Emirati companies with diverse experiences in the fields of business administration, marketing, hospitality, promotion, quality, health and occupational safety.

General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the surrounding area Atef Moftah  explained that announcing the winner was preceded by many long, complex rounds of negotiations to achieve the maximum return and maximize the Egyptian state’s share of providing and operating services at the museum, while ensuring the services will be provided and operated at the highest international standards.

It is worth noting that in mid-2018, the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority announced an international proposal to apply for the provision and operation of services at the museum, and accordingly eight international alliances advanced, with five passing the pre-qualification stage.

The results of the technical committees' work resulted in the selection of three consortia. Then, the evaluation stages of the concerned committees were completed, which resulted in the selection of only two coalitions.

Several sessions were held to negotiate the best financial and technical offers for the Egyptian state.
