Egypt’s Opera House hosts poetic evening for renowned poet Ahmed Taymour on March. 3

CAIRO – 1 March 2021: As part of the intellectual and cultural program organized by the Egyptian Opera House, an evening for the renowned poet Ahmed Taymour will be organized on March 3 at 7 p.m. at the Cairo Opera’s Small Theater.

A group of prominent artists and media professionals, including Hamdy el-Konayesi, Mahmoud el-Heddini, Sameh el-Srayiti and Manal Salama, will participate in the event, which will be presented by journalist Gamal Hammad. Taymour will recite a selection of his most important contemplative, romantic and patriotic poems.

It is well known that Taymour graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, then obtained a master's degree in physiology and a master's in internal diseases. He received his PhD from Al-Azhar University and a Research Fellowship from Tufts University, USA.

Taymour works as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University. He participated in many evenings and seminars, and many poetry evenings were held for him in various cultural palaces in Egypt and the world.

Also, Taymour’s poems were published in Arab newspapers and magazines.
