CAIRO – 11 February 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem issued a decision to establish a branch of the Academy of Arts in El-Shorouk City.
The decision was made upon the approval of the City Authority and the New Urban Communities Authority to allocate for that purpose plot No. (1) in the Eighth Neighborhood Services Center for Family Housing, which spans on a total area of 7915 square meters, with its outlet buildings than span on an area of 1400 meters including 33 classrooms.
Abdel Dayem said that the decision to establish a branch of the Academy of Arts in the city of El-Shorouk in Cairo governorate comes within the framework of the strategy of the state and the Ministry of Culture to achieve sustainable development and Egypt's 2030 vision, expanding specialized educational and cultural facilities in various governorates.
She added that the academy’s branch in El-Shorouk city is a new tributary that enriches the creative work system and participates in the development of society by preparing specialized artistic cadres that contribute to preserving the prosperity of Egyptian arts and culture and spreading enlightenment among the people of the nation to confront extremist ideas.
For his part, President of the Academy of Arts Ashraf Zaki said that the new branch of the Academy of Arts in El-Shorouk City provides an opportunity for young people to hone their talents.
