1946 - The Abbas Bridge incident occurs, where thousands of students march from King Fouad I University to Abdeen Palace to demand the evacuation of the British and the severing of negotiations.
1946 - The head of the Royal Court in Egypt, Ahmed Hassanein Pasha, dies as a result of a car accident over the Qasr al-Nil Bridge.
2004 - A group of Jewish extremists smashed ancient marble columns, dating back to the early Islamic era, and located near the Islamic Museum inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque square.
2020 - Korean movie “Parasite” wins an Oscar for Best Film, Joaquin Phoenix wins Best Actor, Renee Zellweger wins Best Actress, at the 92nd Academy Awards.
1920 - Tamader Tawfiq, Egyptian journalist.
1956 - Nabil Farouk, Egyptian writer.
1946 - Ahmed Hassanein Pasha, head of the Egyptian Royal Court.
1980 – Morsy Gamil Aziz, Egyptian poet.
1996 - Adel Adham, Egyptian actor.
