Alexandria’s Stanley Bridge is the most beautiful bridge in the world, Bassam el-Shamaa

CAIRO – 7 February 2021: Bassam el-Shamaa, a professor of Egyptology, said that the Stanley Bridge in Alexandria is the most beautiful bridge in Egypt, and the world.

Shamaa added in press statements that the design of the Stanley Bridge is so remarkable, as its columns are fixed in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, pointing out that Stanley was not built on an archaeological site.

Also, Shamaa called on the Governorate of Alexandria to benefit financially from the Stanley Bridge by marketing it and creating a number of activities associated with it, such as printing T-shirts, medals and brochures bearing the image of Stanley Bridge.

He pointed out that the cutting and trimming of historical and ancient trees is a very harmful thing.
