Egypt’s Synergy to release ‘COVID-25’ series in Ramadan 2021

CAIRO - 10 January 2021: Egyptian leading production company Synergy announced that it will release “COVID-25” series in Ramadan 2021.

 

The 15 episodes series will be staring Egyptian superstar Youssef el Sherif, written by Engy Alaa and directed by Ahmed Galal.

 

Synergy, released the first Egyptian science fiction series "El Nehaya" (The End) in Ramadan 2020.


The series acheived huge success and managed to grab worldwide attention as a lot of international media outlets wrote about the series. 



"El Nehaya" revealed the latest international techniques were used in the series, yet it preserved its Egyptian spirit and taste. 

 

Egyptian series "El Nehaya" managed to grab the audiences' attention since the first episode and was trending on Twitter. 

Since the first episode of "El-Nehaya", we found ourselves watching a new type of drama not only in the Egyptian drama, but in the Arab drama as well.

 

Being the first Egyptian and Arab science fiction series, the series used the latest techniques. 

The leading production company, Synergy, stood behind this massive production that is taking the Egyptian drama to a different level. 

Youssef el-Sherif embodied brilliantly the role of engineer Zain, who cares about the energy problem that will hit the world in 2120, the year the series' incidents are taking place.

In 2019, CEO of Egyptian Media Group Tamer Mursi signed a contract with Youssef el-Sherif to produce "El-Nehaya" series.

"El-Nehaya" stars beside Sherif, Amr Abdel Geliel, Ahmed Wafik, Nahed el Sebaie, Sahar el Saygeh among others. The series is written by Amr Samir Atef and directed by Yasser Samy. 

The series witnessed the comeback of Sherif after 2 years of hiatus since his last series "Kafr Delhab".

 

The series was screened exclusively on Watch It, and ON TV channels and is produced by Synergy. 

Sherif previously revealed the reasons behind his absence in the 2019 Ramadan marathon. 

“I did not find a well-written script. I do not want to participate in a series for the sake of mere participation in Ramadan. I want to convey a message for my audience and this is my ultimate goal,” Sherif previously said.
