CAIRO – 3 January 2020: The General Authority for Cultural Palaces continues its activities to implement the Egyptian Industrial Project in Ismailia Governorate, which is organized by the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs and will resume until January 23, 2021.
The authority’s role comes to continue the series of activities of the Egyptian Industrial Initiative, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to develop Egyptian crafts and was adopted by the Ministry of Culture under the patronage of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, who made it clear that the initiative has succeeded in creating a new generation of creators in the field of traditional crafts, which is one of the symbols of the Egyptian identity.
The Egyptian Industrial Project accepts students from the age of 18 to 45 years. It consists of integrated training courses to teach environmental crafts, such as training in ceramics crafts, tents, copperwork (engraving, arquette), jewelry, shell inlay, wood veneer, and khayamiya.
It targets young people to help them start their small craft projects in all governorates of Egypt. A group of specialists are training them for these crafts. The type of courses is determined according to the type of craft in which each governorate is famous for.
