CAIRO – 30 December 2020: The administration of the National Egyptian Theater Festival, in its thirteenth edition headed by artist Youssef Ismail, decided Wednesday, to grant the award of the applied criticism essay for theatrical performances, valued at L.E 5,000 pounds, in the name of the late doctor and critic Hassan Attia.
As for the Critical Research Award, which totals L.E10,000, will be granted with a shield and a certificate of appreciation, and will be in the name of Professor Fawzi Fahmy.
The 13th National Egyptian Theater Festival concludes its activities on January 2, 2021, instead of January 4.
The closing ceremony will be limited to the distribution of awards and speeches to the president of the festival and the jury, then the announcement of the prizes at the Grand Theater of the Egyptian Opera House.
The schedule of theatrical performances has been revised and all theater shows will end on January 1.
The festival’s 13th edition launched on December 20, 2020 under the title “Fathers”.
In it, the festival celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Egyptian theater, which has been dated since 1870 A.D.
The Supreme Committee of the festival included 13 members from different generations and various disciplines in the field of theater.
