CAIRO – 29 December 2020: On December 29, many important events took place that changed the map of the world, including the commemoration of the assassination of Saint Thomas Becket and the Bab el-Amoud massacre in Jerusalem by the Irgun Zionist Organization.
1170 - Saint Thomas Becket is assassinated in Canterbury Cathedral by followers of King Henry II as a result of a conflict with him.

1975 - British law promulgates an end to gender discrimination n in wages. The law stipulated the right of women to receive wages equal to that of men. It also gives them equal rights in work and society. Gender discrimination by employers has become illegal and punishable by law.
1998 - Khmer Rouge leaders in Cambodia apologize for the massacres they committed against civilians during the 1970s, which resulted in the demise of about 1.5 million people.
