CAIRO – 21 December 2020: The Museum of Islamic Art announced the start of receiving the photographs participating in the art exhibition "Lens 2", to be organized from March 23 to April 1, 2021, in cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Calligraphy Studies Center, under the title "The Arabic Letter: Multiple Visions".

Moamen Othman, head of the museums sector, said that the aim of the exhibition this year is to encourage photographers to observe the masterpieces and aesthetics of inscriptions and writings executed in Arabic letters on buildings and arts, whether existing or preserved in museums, or the different typography.

This is reflected in the increased awareness of the importance of preserving the heritage of Arabic inscriptions, writings and letters.

This is in addition to photographing and documenting rare inscriptions, which contribute to preserving them from extinction.

For his part, General Director of the Museum Mamdouh Othman explained that amateur and professional photographers from the age of 15 years and above can participate, whether they are from Egypt or abroad.

The photographs can be sent for participation until February 1, 2021.
