CAIRO – 21 December 2020: The Cultural Development Fund sector, in cooperation with the Farid Al-Atrash Fans Association, celebrates the death anniversary of the king of oud, the musician Farid Al-Atrash, for the first time over a period of two days.
The first celebration will be held on December 24 at 6 p.m., in El-Hanager Cinema. A documentary film entitled "The Story of a Whole Life" will be screened, which narrates the most important artistic stations in the life of musician Farid Al-Atrash, directed by Adel El-Sayed.
The celebration also includes an artistic performance by the opera artist Syed Mansour.
The second celebration will be held on December 26 at 7 p.m. at Bayt Al-Suhaimi. It includes artistic performances for the Fan el-Aseel Troupe, where the band presents a variety of the finest music presented by Farid Al-Atrash performed by a constellation of opera singers.
It is noteworthy that the musician Farid Al-Atrash was born on April 21, 1917 in the town of Al-Qarya in Jabal Al-Druze.
He passed away in Hayek Hospital in Beirut, after a heart attack on December 26, 1974, and was nicknamed "The King of Oud" and "The Musician of all Time."
