CAIRO – 21 December 2020: The Egyptian Opera House celebrates the World Arabic Language Day, in an evening of the Cultural Opera Salon, on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Small Theater.
The salon includes a lyrical performance by artist Farah Basma, and the dialogue revolves around the creative forms that make up the Arabic language and the extent of its importance in forming the Arab identity.
It also deals with the most important challenges that have arisen in the language recently, such as the creation of other overlapping languages that have negatively affected it and ways to confront it by specialists and writers.
It is worth noting that the United Nations decided to adopt Arabic as an official language among the six languages of the United Nations in December 1973.
The Arabic Language was decided to be granted a world day in 2021. It is celebrated annually on December 18.
