CAIRO – 20 December 2020: The National Cinema Center is organizing a special celebration for the 109th anniversary of the birth of the great writer Naguib Mahfouz on December 21, during the activities of the Women's Cinema Club, which is held  in the Egyptian Opera House in cooperation with the Cultural Development Fund.

 

The film "Love Over the Pyramid Hill" is scheduled to be screened. After the screening of the film, a symposium will be held by film critics.

 

Naguib Mahfouz was born in 1911 and passed away on August 30, 2006. He is the first Arab writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988.

 

Mahfouz began writing in the 1930s and continued to do so until 2004. He enriched the Arab and international library with dozens of literary books.

 

The late legendary writer Naguib Mahfouz was known for his devotion to writing, as well as his conservatism in his talks to the press; he preferred to present his philosophical opinions and ideas through literary writing.

 

It is noteworthy that the club's activities are held at 6 p.m.
