UNESCO includes Egyptian manual textile industry in Upper Egypt in list of intangible cultural heritage sites in need of urgent preservation

CAIRO – 16 December 2020: On December 16, UNESCO included the Egyptian manual textile industry of the Upper Egypt region in the list of intangible cultural heritage sites in need of urgent preservation.

On the other hand, Minister of State for Migration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad Ambassador Nabila Makram participated Wednesday in the virtual symposium organized by the UNESCO Regional Office for Science in the Arab Countries in cooperation with the Arab League through the application of "Zoom", as part of the United Nations celebration of the World Arabic Language Day at UNESCO corresponding to December 18 of each year, to discuss the challenges facing the Arabic language and introduce initiatives to enhance its role as an incubator for culture and a carrier of knowledge.
