CAIRO – 16 December 2020: The 13th Luxor International Painting Forum will conclude its activities on December 17 at 5 p.m.
During the closing ceremony, Professor of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University Mustafa Abdel Moati will be honored.
Abdel Moati obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, in 1962. He also obtained his professorship in arts from San Fernando Academy in Madrid in 1977.
He held many positions, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and the General Supervisor of the National Center for Arts and Letters -The Sector of Fine Arts later- from 1980 to 1988 and President of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome from 1988 to 1996.
He established the Nile Hall (1984), the Cairo International Biennial (1984), the Egypt Pavilion at the Titograd Museum, the Mahmoud Said Museums Complex, the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo (1985), equipping the House of Textiles in Helwan.
Moati also organized many annual artistic competitions, including: Mukhtar competition in Sculpture, the Multi-Subject Photography competition, and won the State Prize of Appreciation in Arts in 2001.
He has many exhibitions inside and outside Egypt, including Italy, the United States of America, Bulgaria, Spain and Kuwait.
