13th Egyptian National Theater Festival to hold press conference on Dec. 15

CAIRO – 15 December 2020: The Egyptian National Theater Festival will hold a press conference to announce the details of the thirteenth edition on December 15 at 5 p.m., in the Conference Hall of the Supreme Council of Culture.

The thirteenth edition of the festival will be held from December 20 to January 4,  and is titled  "Fathers".  The festival celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Egyptian theater, which has been dating back since 1870.

The festival's higher committee includes 13 members from different generations and various disciplines in the field of theater.

The Egyptian National Theater Festival aims to display distinguished examples of what was presented in theatrical exhibition spaces in Egypt in order to root the features of Egyptian theater that expresses the personality of Egypt and spread the enlightening message to build the Egyptian human being as well as encourage creative theater artists to creative competition and motivate theatrical teams to develop their performances intellectually, performatively and artistically in order to participate in making a better future for the nation.

The festival’s thirteenth edition will be presided by veteran artist Youssef Ismail.
