Egypt’s Minister of Culture mourns death of novelist Nabil Farouk

CAIRO – 9 December 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and all departments and sectors of the ministry mourned the novelist  Nabil Farouk, who passed away on December 9, at the age of 64, suffering from a heart attack.

She said that the deceased is a milestone in the police fiction writing that generations of the people of Egypt were brought up with and that contributed to the formation of their awareness and thought.

Abdel Dayem expressed her condolences to his family, friends and loved ones, praying to God that the deceased be blessed with his mercy.

It is noteworthy that the late was born in February 1956, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and was famous for police literature and science fiction.

He has published a large collection of stories, the most comprehensive series of Egyptian novels for the pocket. He presented several story series, the most famous of which is “The Future File”, “The Impossible Man” and “Cocktail 2000”.

His stories have met with great success in the Arab world, especially among young people.
