CAIRO – 7 December 2020: The Heliopolis Association launches a special celebration entitled "Together we challenge disability", which coincides with the International Day of the Disabled, on December 8 at 11 a.m., at the Heliopolis Children's Library, one of the association's beacons of knowledge.
President of the Association Nabil Helmy, said that the celebration is attended by more than 60 children with disabilities, and aims to enhance societal awareness of the rights of people with special needs, highlight their full rights and improve the services provided to them.
It also affirms their rights of expression and self-determination, and providing them with all opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities and potential for giving and participation, to be active and able to give, live independently, make them more effective and self-reliant, achieve their just integration, and ensure their full human rights.
For her part, Marwa Abdel Rahman, director of the Children's Library, said that the celebration, in cooperation with an ambitious team for human treasures, is a volunteer team concerned with discovering, integrating and developing positive human energies and skills in all segments of Egyptian and Arab society.
