CAIRO - 2 December 2020: A Serbian media delegation is visiting Egypt until December 5.
The delegation is currently in Hurghada and then they are heading to Luxor. They are introduced to the precautionary measures and hygiene safety regulations implemented by the Egyptian government to ensure the safety of citizens, tourists and workers in the tourism sector, since the resumption of inbound tourism to Egypt last July.
Head of the International Tourism Sector at the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board Maged Abu Sidira said that the delegation includes 12 senior journalists, media officials and social media influencers from Serbia, and that this visit was organized in coordination with the Egyptian Ambassador in Belgrade.

It is held within the framework of "Fam Trips" that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities organizes to promote Egyptian tourism and attract tourists to Egypt.
He pointed out that during the stay of the delegation in Hurghada, they toured the city, and visited Hurghada Museum, the Marina, the Great Mosque, and the Coptic Church, in addition to a cruise on a yacht, during which they enjoyed the picturesque marine life and the warm sunny weather of the city.

The members of the delegation also did some marine activities including diving, where they enjoyed experiencing the rich marine life of the Red Sea; the coral reefs and rare fish.
Also, he added that during the sea trip the delegation was invited to lunch to taste the Egyptian cuisine so that they could transfer their personal experience to the Serbian market.
Abu Sedira further stated that the delegation also went to Luxor for a one-day visit, where they visited the temples of Karnak, Deir el-Bahari, Valley of the Kings and the statues of Memnon.
During their visit to Hurghada and Luxor, members of the delegation praised the precautionary measures and hygiene safety regulations hotels and touristic facilities, museums, archaeological sites and Egyptian airports, which they have experienced personally.
They also said that they will write about their experience in the Serbian media and talk about it with their friends and families and encourage them to visit Egypt.
Furthermore, Abu Sedira explained that the delegation's visit to the Hurghada Museum and Luxor is within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' new trend of mixing leisure and culture; linking our beautiful beaches with all their activities with cultural tourism, and catering to all the needs of tourists and linking the shores of the Red Sea to the archaeological sites in the Nile Valley and Upper Egypt.
In this regard, the delegation was informed that, in addition to Hurghada Museum, which was inaugurated last February, Sharm El-Sheikh Museum was also opened last October as the first archeological museum in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The delegation will conclude its visit to Egypt by visiting the cities of Cairo and Giza, where they will tour the Pyramids of Giza, Old Cairo, the Citadel of Salah al-Din, and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with a number of officials of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, to inform them of the efforts made by the Egyptian state to support the tourism sector during the COVID-19 crisis, and the facilities provided by Egypt to encourage major international tour operators to organize trips to coastal tourist governorates.
