COVID-19 in GFF 4th edition

CAIRO – 8 November 2020: Several artists announced they tested positive for coronavirus following the end of the GounaFilm Festival, and asked for prayers via social media.

The Egyptian singer, Wegz, was the first to announce his infection with the virus, followed by Egyptian actress SarrahAbdelrahman, actress Basma and actress Zainab Gharib.

Also, Reem El-Adl, a clothing designer and stylist, announced she conracted the virus and added that some of her friends had tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Health Ministry announced an increase in the number of infections per day. Egyptian social media usersexpressed their discontentment and concern with this increase, and linked it to GFF's 4th edition. 

This highlights the necessity to adhere to the precautionary measures set by the World Health Organization, to commit to social distancing and to wear a face mask.
