CAIRO – 1 November 2020: Egypt’s Fine Arts Sector announced the extension of the period of the 59th Cairo Salon exhibition to November 7 instead of November 3, 2020, which is held at the Palace of Arts in the Egyptian Opera House, provided that the visiting timings starting Saturday, November 1, are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Fridays.
Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem inaugurated the 59th Cairo Art Salon, under the title "The aura, the halo and the uniqueness in contemporary Egyptian art" on October 13 with the resumption of the Arts Palace's activities.
Abdel Dayem said that since its first launched in 1921, the Cairo Salon has contributed to enriching the plastic arts arena as it is one of the bright images expressing the artistic identity of Egypt.
It is noteworthy that the Cairo Salon is the first artistic event that was held in Egypt after the inauguration of the first specialized school for fine arts in 1908 during the reign of Prince Yusef Kamal.
The Egyptian Society for Fine Arts was later established after the 1919 revolution with the name Cairo Salon.
