Sneak-Peak at cultural, artistic events of the day

CAIRO – 29 October 2020: A number of cultural and artistic activities will be held in a number of cultural institutions and centers on October 29, including the celebration of the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday, "Sebouni Lewahdy" (Leave Me Alone) play and a concert.

The Egyptian Public Library is organizing an art concert for the Nile for Folk Instruments and Singing troupe, at 6 p.m., in cooperation with the General Authority of Cultural Palaces. This comes within the celebrations of the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

The concert’s program includes a variety of musical compositions, as well as some religious and heritage songs represented in folklore, religious singing, and the Tanoura dance.

The Bayram al-Tunisi Theater in Alexandria is hosting the theatrical performance "Sebouni Lewahdy", at 7:30 pm, as part of the "Egyptian Author" initiative, launched by the Artistic House of the Theater of the Cultural Production Sector and  is scheduled to continue until October 31.

Harp player Yasmine el-Harbi performs with her band, on October 29, at 8 p.m. at Cairo Opera’s Small Theater.

The concert’s program includes a selection of international compositions as well as a selection of the works of the composing giants in Egypt and the Arab world, including Sayed Darwish, Mohammad Abdel Wahab, Baligh Hamdi and Hany Shenouda.

That is in addition to presenting medleys for Mohamed Mounir, Abdel Halim Hafez and Fayrouz.
