CAIRO – 20 October 2020: Egypt's antiquities are found in many parts of the world, and are the subject of various national tourist visits. Therefore, the Egyptian civilization is influenced by what it left as a testament to its greatness and strength over the years.
Several Egyptian entities are working on using their creative ideas to promote and interact between Egypt and other countries.
This is visible in the "Draw Egypt" competition launched by the Cultural Office of the Egyptian Embassy in the Russian capital, Moscow.
The competition focused on a new and important category in Russian society, which is the Russian children, enabling them to express their vision of Egypt and what they know about it, through artistic paintings, submitted to the Cultural Office in partnership with the Russian State Children's Library.
Participations were divided among the various Russian regions, such as Kamchatka, the Far East, Siberia, and the Republic of Belarus.
“The competition was launched as a kind of cultural promotion for Egypt among children in Russian schools and the date was chosen with the start of the new school year in Russia. The competition was circulated to Russian schools and children's libraries in all regions.
The governmental Children's Library was chosen as a partner in organizing the initiative, and details of the competition were published on its official website, with all dates for submission set,” said the Egyptian Cultural Advisor Mohammad al-Gebali in press statements on the reasons for launching the competition.
The competition committee received more than 1500 entries, with a total of 6000 thousand paintings, which is a huge number. The topics of the paintings focused on Egyptian deities associated with the ancient Egyptian civilization, nature in Egypt, and Egyptian cities.
