CAIRO – 20 October 2020: In light of the resumption of cultural tourism in Egypt, starting from the beginning of the previous September, a number of tourist groups from France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Ukraine and Belarus flocked to Luxor from Hurghada as part of the "one-day" trips, to enjoy visiting various archaeological sites.
These groups visited the temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East bank, then went to the west bank to visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the tombs of the Valley of the Kings.
The tourists expressed their happiness to visit these places and to learn about the ancient Egyptian civilization and enjoy Egypt's warm and sunny weather.
Head of the Domestic Tourism Sector at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion Iman Mahmoud explained that since the resumption of the cultural tourism movement, tourists have been received on a regular basis.
In a related context, the Egyptian Museum welcomed a number of tourist groups coming from several countries, including Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Director General of the Museum Sabah Abdel Razek explained that the visiting programs of these tourist groups included tours of the museum’s various halls, including the Tutankhamun Hall, Yuya and Tuya Hall, among many others.
For his part, Director General of the Antiquities of the Pyramid Ashraf Mohieddin said that the area was visited by groups from Belarus, Ukraine and Serbia, and that during the visit they praised the precautionary measures applied in all archaeological sites and museums, the hotel and other tourist facilities in Egypt.
