CAIRO – 16 September 2020: Mahmoud Khalaf, head of the Exhibitions Committee at the Egyptian Publishers Association, said that the General Egyptian Book Organization addressed the association to hold a book fair in Alexandria; accordingly, the door was opened to receive the applications of publishing houses that want to participate in the exhibition.

The head of the Exhibitions Committee of the Egyptian Publishers Association said in press statements that the price of the 9-meter pavilion reached LE 5,200 in 2020, which is L.E 1000 more expensive than last year's price.

According to Khalaf, the price of the pavilion cannot be reduced as he had been informed by the GEBO that the number of publishers participating in 2020 is far less than the previous years, therefore the prices have been raised.

It is worth noting that Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem announced the resumption of book fairs' activities in various governorates, beginning with the Alexandria Book Fair that is set to be held from October 1-10.

Abdel Dayem thanked Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly for his keenness to continue disseminating the message of enlightenment, which reflects the state's belief in the importance of creativity in developing society.
