CAIRO – 28 June 2017: Cairo Opera House announced that it will open its doors to the public for free on Friday, June 30, the fourth anniversary of the June 30 revolution. It is scheduled to hold a grand celebration on this occasion.

This year’s celebration of the June 30 revolution will include launching a large number of important development projects, which will be announced in the next few hours.

On June 30, 2013 millions of Egyptians took to the streets demanding ousting former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in the largest demonstration since the 2011 revolution.

‘’ The people want to down the regime’’ Egyptians shouted that day. The revolution ended by ousting Mohamed Morsi, handing interim presidency to head of the Supreme Constitutional Court Adly Mansour and suspending the 2012 constitution, known as the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’s constitution.’
